A Knight in Shining Armour
People always need protection. They need a defense against the harmful things that will end their dreams and send them into an infinite darkness. In every generation, there are challenges and threats that can bring strong-willed mortals to their knees. Every day, bullies are there to bring innocents down and make themselves supreme. Yet there are champions out there to defeat them and protect the people. And this is where the story begins.
A young boy once studied in a school ruled by bullies. Bigger, meaner, and popular kids always made themselves stronger than everyone by controlling the weak little runts. The young boy wasn’t one of those runts. He simply ignored the bullies orders, and they would get annoyed. But the bullies couldn’t go extremely violent and start beating the unconquerable loser, unless it was their last option. They tried to bribe the boy to follow their demands.
“No”. The young boy would say.
They offered him food and drinks.
“No”.
Games, free movie and arcade tickets, cheat codes.
“Nah”.
Threats, violent promises, a beating of a life time.
“Do you want to go to jail this early?”.
Finally, they begged, with genuine tears.
“No thanks”.
“WHY?!?” They angrily asked.
“Because even if I follow you, even if everyone listens to you, you will never find satisfaction. The people you bully will never like you, no matter how hard you try, and when those people grow up to be more popular, and stronger, and better than you, you’ll be just a name in your victim’s biographies”.
Slowly, the bullies began to realize that all that they have done and accomplished were irrelevant plots in the universe’s grand scheme. The money they took came from people who made a real difference in life. The sufferings they inflicted were distractions to a plan that began in the beginning and will end in a beautiful and magnificent spectacle. They lived in a world of illusion and lies, while everyone else, like the young boy, had a life worth living.
The bullies no longer became bullies. When they grew up, they became heroes to a dozen nations and a thousand people worldwide. They helped people of different races, with different specialties. And when they made a difference to the world, they remembered people like the young boy who inspired them to do better, to be better. They remembered a small creature wielding a sword forged by bravery that slew the monsters within themselves and guided their love and kindness to the light. They remembered a protector inside, a knight in shining armour.
